Yes, you read that right: Just a four-minute walk from the Sonnenhof, the Rosenalmbahn takes you to the top-class ski area. With 150 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes and 52 modern lifts, the Zillertal Arena is the largest ski area in the Zillertal and stretches from Zell am Ziller via Gerlos to the province of Salzburg.

The Zillertal was awarded 4.7 out of 5 stars by Skiresort.de, the world's largest test portal for ski resorts, as the 2024 test winner in the “Best Ski Valley” category. The portal also named the new 6-seater Mitterleger chairlift (Zillertal Arena) the best new lift of 2024.

Excursion tip Kreuzwiesenalm
Something that always goes hand in hand with skiing: a stop at a genuine, rustic Zillertal ski hut. We have a very special excursion tip for you: the Kreuzwiesenalm at 1,884 m in the middle of the Zillertal Arena ski area. Tasty food, cool refreshments, hot drinks and a panoramic terrace with a unique view await you here.
The longest valley descent in Austria
When you look out of the window in the morning, you will see the longest valley run in Austria with a slope gradient of up to 50% and a slope width of 30 to 40 meters. A spectacular sight even for experienced skiers! From the Übergangsjoch, you ski down to the valley on 8.4 km of slopes, covering an incredible 1,930 meters in altitude.
Zillertal Superskipass
The Zillertal is the largest ski valley in the world and boasts a total of three gigantic large ski areas and the Hintertux Glacier, Austria's only year-round ski area. The Zillertal Superskipass opens the doors to all 180 lifts in the valley with 548 wonderful kilometers of pistes. With the Zillertal Superskipass, you can also use public transport to and from the cable cars free of charge.
