In 2006, our senior manager Hans realised a dream and acquired a vineyard in a prime location in Burgenland, directly on Lake Neusiedl. After years of experience, he can now present 7 fine wines, which we are happy to serve you in our hotel restaurant.
On the wine labels we show the colourful, beautiful bee-eaters, rare birds that can be spotted with luck around our vineyard. Wine lovers also have the opportunity to take their favourite wine home with them to toast to wonderful holiday memories.
Sonnenhof Weinberg is situated in a prime location in Burgenland,directly on the eastern shore of Lake Neusiedl. The area lies in the heart of the Pannonian climate zone and is characterised by very varied soils. This climate is characterised by hot, dry summers with moderate rainfall and cold winters with little snow. Lake Neusiedl, the largest steppe lake in Central Europe, is an important factor in the microclimate. The vines in the vineyards can store up pure sunshine. The fully effective Pannonian climate, together with Lake Neusiedl as a temperature regulator, ensures a long growing season and a variety of great wines.
